Although Buell equipment is provided on a Global scale, sometimes
opportunities exist in your own back yard. Reading Alloys Engineered
Materials is a Pennsylvania company that produces specialized
pigments from precious metals. After initial contact by the sales
representative it was determined they had a requirement to separate
a Niobium material in the 20 micron range. Laboratory testing with
the Centrifugal classifier showed positive results. Reading Alloys
then requested if Buell could provide a separation at a point below
10 microns. Testing was then performed using the new Buell HEC
Centrifugal classifier, which provided a separation at about 5
microns. This positive testing resulted in Buell supplying its first
HEC classifier. The scope of the system consisted of a HEC-18
Centrifugal classifier, cyclone, cartridge filter, fan and
connecting ductwork.
Startup of this system is scheduled for February

WHY A BUELL HEC CLASSIFIER?
1. The Buell HEC static classifier can provide the same low cut
point results as other rotating type classifiers, but with the
reduced cost and lower maintenance of NO MOVING PARTS.
2. Due to the explosive nature of this material, rotary classifiers
were not acceptable.
3. The HEC classifier is much less expensive than rotary
classifiers.
