Falling Springs Quarry Company wanted to reduce the amount of fine dust in their product (smaller than 200 mesh). The amount of these fines was to be reduced from about 18% to less than 4%. Testing in the Buell laboratory showed that this could be done with moisture levels up to 1.5%. However, prior to installing a new 150 TPH stationary system with all the related conveyors, the customer wanted field verification that this could be attained, so the Buell 75 TPH mobile classifier was leased for a several month period. The mobile system consists of a GI-108 classifier and 2 cyclones installed on a trailer and a fabric filter, fan, air compressor and control cabinet installed on a second trailer. This mobile unit was started up in late November, and the results satisfied the objective and matched the test results.

This system will continue to be operated while the stationary unit is being installed.
